Step 1: Pre-Inspection
A member of our staff will carefully inspect your areas of concern as well as carpet
soiling and wear conditions. They will also advise you of any possible permanent staining.
Step 2: Commercial Pre-vacuum
Your carpet will be thoroughly vacuumed with our high volume commercial vacuum to
remove dry soil. (Removing dry soil is one of the most important steps in this cleaning
Step 3: Furniture Moving
Sofas, chairs and tables will be carefully moved. Often times larger furniture such as
beds, dressers, and hutches, are left in place due to lack of exposure making your

used during the drying process to protect your furniture.)
Step 4: Pre-spray & Spot Treat
The carpet is pre-sprayed with special cleaning compounds specifically formulated for
your particular carpet & soil condition. This loosens up the soil to make the rinsing
process more effective. Spots are also treated at this time with a top of the line spot
remover. No matter the material used in your carpet construction our technicians will be
using products specially formulated for that carpet.
Step 5: Pre-Groom
The pre-spray is then worked into the fiber using a special grooming tool designed to
help loosen unwanted dirt and debris and move them towards the surface. This also helps
make the rinsing process much more effective.
Step 6: Rinse and Extract

"plush" your carpet is to prevent over wetting. This step also disinfects & deodorizes your
Step 7: Neutralization Process

treatment is applied as a rinse or can be applied after rinsing depending on soil
Step 8: Post Spot Treatment
Some spots require extra attention and care. If a spot persists after initial cleaning,
Kilen's takes the extra time to implement a secondary plan of action usually eliminating
Step 9: Dry Bonnet
Some carpet in your home (not all) benefits from a Dry Bonnet process. The dry bonnet
assists in the drying process and can help prevent spots from returning while drying.
(Not all carpet fibers benefit from this step, thus this step is only utilized under specific
Step 10: Speed Dry
High velocity fans are strategically placed on the carpet to speed the drying process.
Step 11: Post Grooming
The carpet fiber is set in one direction (using a finish groomer) for faster drying and a
better visual appeal.
